Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Re: 10.4 italian

From the little I have read, the revolver can use black powder and smokeless equivalents. I think the major issue will be forming the brass and finding appropriate bullets that fit the bore of your gun.

Re: Remington #5 Rolling Block

Very nice find. TFB (The Firearm Blog) made a video talking about this rifle in the same caliber. There is something about the 7x57 caliber, easy to shoot but still gets the job done. Let us know how it shoots.

Re: Revolver picture thread

My old warhorse, S&W pre-model 19 made around 1956. The finish isn't perfect but it shoots and carries very nicely.

Re: REMINGTON M1863 PERCUSSION ‘ZOUAVE’ RIFLE REPRO

A lot of people give the Zouave rifles a bad rap, but they seem pretty nice. Is there a certain make to avoid or to look for in regards to best quality?

I've been interested in getting a .58 caliber for a while now and the Zouaves seem to be a good bargain for what you get.

Beautiful rifle. I love the Brazilian crest and the Mauser logo on the receiver.

Awesome channel on YouTube. They just recently covered the use of Winchester 1892s by the British in WW1.

Re: Photobucket's racket !

I've noticed a lot of those photobucket picture placeholders all over the place. What are some good alternative sites that can be used without the BS?

Good to hear your local gun store is willing to take care of you. That is getting harder and harder to find these days.

Re: 1858 Remmy

I got an older Pietta 1858 and so far I like it more than my Pietta 1860 Army. I think the frame and screwed in barrel make it feel more substantial. Both shoot very nicely, though the 1860 shoots much higher than point of aim.

I don't use Photobucket, but I see a lot of broken picture links all over the place. What are they doing that is upsetting you?

Re: Mauser shots

Nice rifle. A cheap trick I like to use is a white poster board reflecting indirect light back at the subject. You don't get glare and it usually helps balance the overall lighting. The color in the last picture is great.

Re: Depriming by hand

I use a Lee Universal de-capper, especially for my black powder cartridges prior to cleaning. You could always unscrew your full length sizing die until it doesn't touch the shoulder and see if the de-capping pin can still do its job. Either way, if your nail or pin punch works for you, more power t...

Re: Reloading 7.62x54R

Most Mosins like .310-.312 with .311 being pretty standard. I use .311 bullets in both by Enfield no4 as well as my Finnish M39 Mosin-Nagant.
