Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Re: So Cool!!!

Without the Earth's protective atmosphere I wonder how log the paint, upholstery and vinyl parts will weather?

Re: Browning has ceased producing Hi Power

A sad day in my opinion. It is one of the truly great designs by the greatest firearms designer and inventor of virtually all the types operating principles known to man. It makes me wonder if they have reworked it to have a new polymer framed version of the High Power?

Re: Stevens Favorite

That really is in remarkable condition, not only for it's age but what so many of those rifles were used for. Many spent their life around the corner of a barn door guarding the chickens and ducks. If you ever get tired of shooting a single shot, let me know.

Re: Stevens Favorite

What a beauty you found! I found it's modern counterpart some years ago, a Savage model 30G, .22 rimfire that is very accurate. It has the same style half round barrel. I like yours more than mine. You don't find many in the condition yours is in.

Re: Spurs

It looks to me that SRF has the makings of an online spur museum. I have been following & enjoying this thread and can't wait for the next additions! I am glad to see that they have been saved from the scrap iron pile somewhere by people that know what they are and can enjoy them.

Re: COYOTE CALLS

OLDGUNNER, No offense intended from here in Waseca, MN. Just a little good natured ribbing a half mile from George's grave. Back when I was working I cut hair for the fellows that did the tuning of George's duck, goose and predator calls and made them ... and George, too. When the old Herter's employ...

Re: JW-15 or ????

It would be interesting to see a profile of the entire stock. Top of receiver looks like CZ to me, as does the rear sight. A now deceased shooting buddy had a China made Norinco marked JW-15 that I had multiple opportunities to shoot. A nice surprise to shoot as accuracy was excellent and it functio...

Boer War et. al. ebooks

Hello guys! I don't post all that much, but, the recent article http://www.surplusrifleforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=1890 that mentioned how the Boers shot up the Brits a hundred and some years ago reminded me of this. I don't know how many of you are aware of The Gutenberg Project http://www.guten...

Re: 45-70 Wow

I think handloaders have found the ability to improve the .45-70 energy levels to that of the .458 Winchester given the right powders. Of course, at this level a person needs to be careful what gun it is placed in or you and your weapon could be in several pieces after the loud noises stop. A now de...

Re: Stevens Favorite Single Shot

i have a Savage 30G that is a similar design in .22 rf and is excellent in accuracy. A friend had one like your's and as I recall his was in .32 rf short. The Old Western Scrounger carried ammo, a bit high buck though. They are a cool design. The 30 G does not have the nice take down feature of your...
