Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

I wish it had been available in a hardcover version.

Re: Too cold!!!

Since I prefer winter weather to the hot & humid days of summer we get here in Minnesota I am feeling the 2-5 inches of white and fluffy that is supposed to start falling around 11:00 a.m. today will keep the ugly days of summer at bay ... for a while longer. It is difficult playing baseball with sn...

Thanks Jeff! I need some snow to melt off to get into the rifle range and more snow is predicted for tomorrow.

Hello and Welcome to the forum Stormrider. I heard there were storms in Texas last night with large hail and tornadoes.

Re: Questions on my new sporterized 1903

I, too, have a 1903 that was sporterized. I have not shot it in a couple of years, but, even with my aging eyes the Lyman peep rear and front ventilated sight makes hole where I aim it. It really does shoot well. I have no kids, but, I think my nephew might like it. You have a mighty fine rifle that...

Without the Earth's protective atmosphere I wonder how log the paint, upholstery and vinyl parts will weather?

Re: Browning has ceased producing Hi Power

A sad day in my opinion. It is one of the truly great designs by the greatest firearms designer and inventor of virtually all the types operating principles known to man. It makes me wonder if they have reworked it to have a new polymer framed version of the High Power?

Re: Stevens Favorite

That really is in remarkable condition, not only for it's age but what so many of those rifles were used for. Many spent their life around the corner of a barn door guarding the chickens and ducks. If you ever get tired of shooting a single shot, let me know.

Re: Stevens Favorite

What a beauty you found! I found it's modern counterpart some years ago, a Savage model 30G, .22 rimfire that is very accurate. It has the same style half round barrel. I like yours more than mine. You don't find many in the condition yours is in.

Re: Spurs

It looks to me that SRF has the makings of an online spur museum. I have been following & enjoying this thread and can't wait for the next additions! I am glad to see that they have been saved from the scrap iron pile somewhere by people that know what they are and can enjoy them.

Re: COYOTE CALLS

OLDGUNNER, No offense intended from here in Waseca, MN. Just a little good natured ribbing a half mile from George's grave. Back when I was working I cut hair for the fellows that did the tuning of George's duck, goose and predator calls and made them ... and George, too. When the old Herter's employ...

Re: JW-15 or ????

It would be interesting to see a profile of the entire stock. Top of receiver looks like CZ to me, as does the rear sight. A now deceased shooting buddy had a China made Norinco marked JW-15 that I had multiple opportunities to shoot. A nice surprise to shoot as accuracy was excellent and it functio...

Thank you for posting about Archive.org. I have been on the Internet since 2001 and had not heard of this site before. More reading and digging.
