Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

"Another" Colombian added to the collection!

I posted earlier about my Colombian Madsen bolt action rifle that was bought by the Colombian Military but probably languished in a warehouse before entering the surplus market - unissued and not used; probably the nicest "surplus" gun to hit the market. I am a member of Coltforums; and one of the m...

Re: SBS semi-auto

A correction of sorts.

They are not short barreled shotguns. The BATFE has determined that they are a firearm but not a firearm that falls under the NFA!

The attached target was shot at 7 yards. Although not unpleasant to shoot, recoil was more noticeable the...

Re: Swedish Husqvarna made Browning 1907 Clone

An update, albeit late! Last week I went to the range with the gun in .380. The gun functioned flawlessly with the range ammo I have. However, this gun screams .380 is an insult to shoot out of me! Periodically I would check Gun Broker and E-Bay for an illusive barrel; bam, there it was, an "armorer...

Re: Swedish M1907 Pistol

Butch - the frame is marked .380; the barrel has a spacer at the front of the chamber. If I can remove it then I will have a all matching gun!

Swedish M1907 Pistol

I have a very nice Swedish Model 1907 Pistol, chambered in .380 ACP. These Browning Model 1903 Clones - made by Husqvarna first with license from Browning then their own version was originally chambered in 9x20mm aka 9 mm Browning Long; it also came with the "correct" holster and three magazines. I ...

Re: My AR Pistol

Here's my AR Pistol - a PSA PA-9 with a 7-1/2" barrel, key-lok hand guard, and a KAK Ind. Shockwave Arm Rest. I have a SIG Romeo-5 red dot on it - first range visit shows a lot of promise for this gun! http://iwantthatknife.com/Gallery/albums/Finnn-M39/PSA_1.jpg http://iwantthatknife.com/Gallery/alb...

Re: Opioid problem

Twenty-six of my thirty years on active duty were spent in the Coast Guard; with another 10-1/2 years on the border with Customs. A lot of the "War against Drugs." For decades I've been saying as long as people are willing to put drugs in their bodies there'll be a demand for them. On the personal n...

Re: '96 long rifle at 500 yards

"Loading Data" can be quite subjective; Barnes, the bullet people, published data for a 6.5 Swedish Mauser, using a 110 grain bullet, loaded up to the maximum load pressure of 51,000 PSI: Powder: IMR 4831 Minimum: 43.0 grains, Muzzle Velocity: 2668 fps. Maximum: 47.0 grains, Muzzle Velocity: 2905 fp...

Re: Sterling Sporters

The original Sterling magazines are awesome. The springs are on rollers - the last round is as easy to load as the first round. The carbine is heavy enough that the recoil is like shooting a .22 LR; the pistol isn't too far behind in the recoil department. I also have a Suomi M-31 semi-auto, with a ...

Re: Sterling Sporters

You mean these Sterlings: http://iwantthatknife.com/Gallery/albums/1911/sterlingx2.jpg or this Sterling made one? http://iwantthatknife.com/Gallery/albums/FN-49/AR180_3.jpg Sorry couldn't resist on the last photo. Both of my semi-auto Sterlings are well built, function well, and are fun to go plink,...

Re: My VZ-52

I decided to field strip the rifle to give it a good cleaning and lube job before I take it to the range (of course here in Texas its been raining for two days!) and shoot it. Darn that recoil spring and guide rod! I had loads of fun trying to put it back together! So - I removed the bolt/bolt carri...

My VZ-52

I bought this a few years ago from a friend who is an FFL in Minnesota. I also got close to 150 rounds of 7.62x45 ammo to go with it as well! All these years and I have yet to shoot it; I started to strip it down one day to see how hard it was going to be to clean it after shooting - and it humbled ...

1961 East German Makarov

The claims are that the East Germans made the best Makarovs; fit and finish are reported to be finest kind. Yesterday I stopped at a local gun shop; noticed the owner had the wrong tag on a Mak; it said 1903 Colt .32. When I pointed it out to him he thanked me and changed the tag to reflect the righ...
