Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

STAR Model 30M

Two weeks ago there was a thread over on Coltforums.com about the Colt venture of bringing in Spanish STAR Model 30M 9mm pistols and marking them with the Colt logo. There were maybe 10 or so made with the Colt name on it; a rare bird indeed. The next day I stopped at my local gun shop and lo and be...

and then there were 3!

Every once in a while David Rachwel's website handgunsoftheworld.com has some nice, affordable handguns for sale. I've bought a few guns from him; reasonable prices and good condition guns are a dangerous combination! I've always liked the Mauser Model 1914 7.65 mm and the Mauser HSc also chambered ...

Re: Signs you are growing old.

I enlisted in the Navy in 1970 out of patriotism.

You know you’re old when someone yell’s “Duck and Cover” and you look for your school desk.

Beretta Olympia .22 Trainer

I thought I’d posted this before; it’s a late 1950s - early 1960s Beretta .22 LR Training Rifle used to train the police and military basic marksmanship. A unique design, copied from an earlier Walther Rifle. It is a dual action rifle; closing the bolt makes it a magazine fed bolt action; leaving th...

Although Browning has stopped production

There are still gear High Power deals out there to be found! My birthday was Tuesday; number 66! In honor of that I went on the prowl for a birthday present; something different then my usual 1911 or (lately) a S&W or Colt classic revolver. Although I didn’t steal it, I didn’t get hurt either; but I...

Re: Greek Army Colt Army Special

RWS thanks for the info! I suspect that the sale went through with the “assistance” of the US Government - hence the US Ordnance Inspector’s mark.

Re: Greek Army Colt Army Special

Over on the Colt Forum, the member who steered me to the auction had this to say about his Greek Army Special: Seriously, mine does not have the inspector's mark and is Epsilon Sigma 11172. It also is one year later than yours (1915) and has a matte (Parkerized?) finish that appears to be period to ...

Greek Army Colt Army Special

I belong to ColtForm.com (as well as other gun forums go figure). A member who collects Military and LE Agency marked guns posted a Gun Broker link for a Greek Army marked Colt Army Special chambered in .38 Special. Colt made the Army special in various calibers (.22 LR, .38 Special, .32-20, .38-200...

"Another" Colombian added to the collection!

I posted earlier about my Colombian Madsen bolt action rifle that was bought by the Colombian Military but probably languished in a warehouse before entering the surplus market - unissued and not used; probably the nicest "surplus" gun to hit the market. I am a member of Coltforums; and one of the m...

Re: SBS semi-auto

A correction of sorts.

They are not short barreled shotguns. The BATFE has determined that they are a firearm but not a firearm that falls under the NFA!
