Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Re: 7.62x54mmR round nose.

Old post, but new to me. Got a ton of these back in the day as they were safe to shoot in my backyard. These are a ton of fun. Reasonably accurate, minimal recoil. Especially fun on soft targets like small jugs of water or expired produce. Similar results to a 55 Vmax out of a .223. I need to hit up...

Re: Swedish newbie

I also have a 1915 M96 CG. Amazing shooter, but does not like 123 grain match bullets. They seem to occasionally cross the singularity at about the 150 yard mark.

Re: K-31 Price Check

My understanding about the GP11 via our local Swiss club is that the Swiss Government is holding remaining stores for official Swiss rifle clubs foreign and domestic. We are still able to get it in the states in that capacity, but the last 2 batches were all 1992 manufacture. We have been told that ...

Re: K-31 Price Check

With the GP11, assuming metal and bore condition good and no stock cracks, absolutely. Haven't been to any decent shows lately to see real world prices, but the sky seems to be the limit on Gunbroker.

Re: 1903 Carl Gustaf still kicking butt!

I do have the latest Hornady book, 10th edition, but they do not list the 147 ELD-M. Listed for the 140 ELD-M, COL 3.025". None of the powders you name are listed. IMHO, with the exception of RL-22 they are all on the "fast" side for the 6.5x55 with 140 gr or greater projectiles. Powders listed, all...

Re: 1903 Carl Gustaf still kicking butt!

I understand the IMR data. I worked up to my current load and psi signs are good. They are at the upper edge but still looks good. This is an excellent hunt load but I am currently working on a Swedish surplus m41 duplicate load. My CG is one that was converted to the 38. I wished there was a way t...

Re: Powder in 1942 30-06?

Be extremely cautious referencing IMR 4895 data. Commercial and military ammunition was loaded with "bulk" grade powders vs. "canister" grade as sold for reloading. With a bulk grade powder, data is worked up by the manufacturer for each lot. Burning speeds and hence charge weights vs velocity and p...

Re: Any Friends In Germany?

Found the .318 in AU. It ain't cheap, but neither would be acquiring it and shipping from Switzerland if that is even possible. http://www.northernshooterssupplies.com.au/318-Westley-Richards-Unprimed-Brass-p/318wrb.htm They also have the 6.5 Dutch http://www.northernshooterssupplies.com.au/6-5-X-53...

I do have friends who are Swiss Nationals and well versed in getting such things into the country through proper channels. Also curious which calibers.

WTB 5.56 IMI brass

If anybody is shooting some of the recent IMI 5.56 on the market, I would be interested in buying or trading for some of the brass. Would also be interested in OF LC or WCC. If you wanted to trade, I have QUALITY 7.62 Tok military ammo (Romanian), 7.62X54R military(various flavors, all good stuff th...

Re: Reloading Problem with Latvian 7.62 NATO Cases

Is it possible that your friends rifle has developed excessive headspace? See if you can get an unfired round and a fired case of different manufacture from his rifle and see where they guage. A friend has a custom rifle in .270 with a poorly headspaced barrel, right at maximum, and he ran into the ...

Re: Gilding the Lily, Gunbroker Style

From what I can gather, he buys rifles in fair-poor condition with good bores and "restores" them. Maybe rifles without wood. Hopefully he's not "restoring" perfectly good beechers. Either way, makes my $450 K-31 with Swiss diopter from last fall look like the deal of the century. I kind of saw this...

Re: Gilding the Lily, Gunbroker Style

I'm not surprised to see K 31s going up dramatically. I always thought they were underpriced, even in the $500 range. I still think some funny auction shenanigans are going on here. And yes, I think this is where military surplus collecting is going. Even Mosin Nagants have doubled-tripled in price ...
