Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Re: In praise of the S&W Model 10

I love mine. I has a 4" bull barrel and is a former NYPD revolver with loads of holster wear, but still perfect function. I also have a 38/200 S&W Victory model that served in Australia. Both have character no Glock could ever aspire to. I do like the weight of the Model 10 a great deal and the heav...

Re: 8mm Lebel Revolver Load

Thanks for the load. I think I might go with 3.7-3.8 grains now.

Best Regards,

Mark

Re: What is this tank?

I am guessing a light tank, a Walker, possibly given to the ROK. If not, then a M-48, which would have been in the US inventory, if not the ROK, but I think that would have been too early for the ROK. It really looks like a Sherman, which would have likely been in the ROK's inventory then. Best Rega...

Re: 8mm Lebel Revolver Load

I shortened twenty 32-20 Winchester cases down to 2.07-2.08" long and then used a .330" sizer I made to expand the cases to accept Graf's 8mm FMJ bullets. I used a load of 3.1-3.2 grains of Unique in the round. The results from the range had two of 12-14 rounds having the bullet getting stuck in the...

Re: 7.65mm French Long Load

I pushed the bullets back into the cases by around .100" and the pistol fired 30 rounds today without incident. I only lost one case too. I think I used 3.1-3.2 grains of Unique powder. I shall count this as a success and looks like my cases work as advertised. Now I need to get that lathe in my gar...

8mm Lebel Revolver Load

I have some of those Graf FMJ 8mm bullets for pistols and wanted to know of a load using Unique powder that can be used for them. I believe they are 100 grains in weight. I just turned down some 32-20 Winchester cases into 8mm revolver cases and now I need a load. Any help would be appreciated. Best...

Re: CUSTOM BULLET MOLD

I've been working six days a week since I don't know when this year, so I haven't had time for garage sales. I would go if I had time, but I try to clean out the garage when I can. I did pick up a $400 snow blower for $75 a few months back. Started on the first pull. I gave it to my Dad since loads ...

Re: CUSTOM BULLET MOLD

I mighty have to try a Lee blank mold now. Of course, if I want to tinker, that's a no go. The mill I want weighs around 400 pounds, so who knows. I was reading where O-1 drill rod is hardened, but machinable. I might try plunging some 4140 pre-heat treated and see what happens. A 30 RC hardness sho...

Re: CUSTOM BULLET MOLD

I hope to have a lathe in my garage this spring. I'll need a mill to cut the mold blank and look into using some O-1 drill rod for a cutter. I've seen the YouTube videos and want to do it myself. I'm a machinist by trade. I might use pre-heat treated 4140 for a cutter instead since I'm going through...

Re: Martini Henry Mark 1

I have a MKIV, which has the old .468" bore. I bought a paper patch mold by RCBS I believe. These molds have no grease grooves. I think I got the proper paper online via Staples. It is the old air mail type stuff. You wet it down after rolling it on the bullet. Check out a YouTube video for more det...

Re: 7.65mm French Long Load

I just pushed the bullets deeper into their cases and now they all fit the chamber. It appears that the case rests on a shoulder inside the chamber, so case length seems to be critical, not overall length. At least, that is how I see it when I put the bullets into the chamber with me just holding th...

Re: Mad Minute.

Silly rabbit, you need a No 1 MkIII SMLE Enfield rifle to properly do a "Mad Minute", after all the phrase is coined from the British Army actually doing this in the field with their Enfields in 1914, or even before. You get ten in the box and a stack of 5 round chargers to plunge into the magazine ...

Re: Practicing for 385 yard match with Carbines

Using a Swiss carbine with GP-11 ammo should be banned..... That's just wrong. I cannot even plink with that stuff since the carbine and ammo are too well made for casual shooting. Shame, shame, shame. Got a Swedish M38 carbine? That's should be banned too. Perhaps a Finnish M39? Its not too long. I...

Re: Black Friday Shoot

The weather was exceedingly good this year and the mud was at least frozen for much of the morning and afternoon. It was good to see Enfield Shooter's Remington Rolling Block belch fire. Ah, I almost had one several years ago and it was Danish Remington reportedly chambered in 45/70, but would have,...

Re: 7.65mm French Long Load

I just checked out the magazines at Springfield Sporters. Have any Unique magazines? Oops, did I mention I have one of those too. As I call them, the French made Ruby. Man, I think I'm real close on making the cases and ammo that works for these pistols. I'm lucky I learned to make my own HHS toolin...
