I've read that these Gewehr 43s were greatly over gassed to the point where they'd beat themselves apart very quickly? A friend just North of me has one he'd like to sell.

Nice build. That stamped handguard will keep your off hand warm in the winter too after a bit of Rapid Fire! I bought a repo made of canvas for my type 99 after all they were a jungle rifle and originals are so expensive anymore.

Continued to play with this and saw the mag catch spring wasn't in it's seat took a small Craftsman flat bladed screw driver and pushed it into it's seat now works as it's suppose to.
