Has anyone ever or heard of someone ever trying to mate a Mk IV barrel to a Mk VI grip frame? Or is this not possible?

I bought a repo made of canvas for my type 99 after all they were a jungle rifle and originals are so expensive anymore.

Continued to play with this and saw the mag catch spring wasn't in it's seat took a small Craftsman flat bladed screw driver and pushed it into it's seat now works as it's suppose to.

No I haven't but. did use their forearms on a couple I built. Thanks for your review, now I may in the future, Bob. Are these small or large pinned?

Has anyone here tried the newer plastic

Inch/metric magazines yet? I'm currently building a Chilean(Sarco) kit and used a new DSA upper receiver and thought I'd try a mag in it after I put the mag release and bolt stop in. The plastic mag was very tight!

I recently acquired a Chilean kit and the long flash suppressor screw was gone, went to Ace and tried different screws they had the and the no. 4 metric fit? Went in with only hand/no wrench.

In another thread I asked about last ditch Arisakas and my understanding is now, there was never a last ditch Arisaka but, several changes were made to them through out the war and this term was slang and what the G.I.s were calling them(for lack of a better term)? Very good reading in your links and informative but I find it strange and lacking in your last link it doesn't mention Nambu taking over development of the type 99? Am I confused here?
