Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Re: My FEG PA-63.

Umm. I used to have a PA-63. Sold it. Regretted that. Found this at my local shop. Is nicer than the one I owned previously. Bought it. It has a benefit of still being all metal, and a bit lighter due to alloy frame. I like 9x18, and chromed bores. It has a benefit in that it could double as a carry...

Re: My FEG PA-63.

I'm not well versed in Walther pistols. I still like my PA-63. Lol. I'm guessing the difference is overall size?

My FEG PA-63.

Sharing the newest pistol. Hungarian FEG PA-63. All matching including the magazine. Gave it a quick wipe down and oil. Snapped a couple pics while at it. I know these were military and police pistols, but don't offhand know much of the service history. I understand they're PPK clones, alloy frame, ...

Re: 1961 East German Makarov

Great grab.
I was still pretty young when the wall came down. One of the last things I remember watching on TV before we came back to the states. Very cool that you saved the military rag talking about it.

Stoked! M24/52c.

So, one of the shops I like does an email list/inventory sheet. Checking it out last night I noticed a couple neat items listed. They had a few Yugo Mausers. Two of them were 24/52c models. I never heard of that before... So Google to the rescue. From what I read, these were rebuilt/refurbished Vz24...

Re: Found a 98/22.

Speaking of cleaning. Always clean your used purchases. Lol. Just because it looks passable doesn't mean it's clean. Patches, from rumpled solvent soaked ones (homebrew solvent), dry, oiled (couple), dry.

Re: Found a 98/22.

It looks better now that I cleaned it :)
Bore shots are always hard. White paper in the clip slot, decent overhead lighting, and turn off the flash on the camera... That's what works for me.

Hardcover. Great for reference, though I've heard there's a few errors. It's been great so far. Makes me want to "catch em all." Lol.

Found some surplus 8mm.

So, hunting the same place I scored the Swede ammo from... I nabbed some of the 8mm in the case. I first thought it all Turkish because cupro-nickel jacketed... While I wasn't wrong about the Turk ammo... There was also Egyptian. Bought some of each. For starters, I know it's berdan primed corrosive...

That's a neat tidbit of info. Didn't know that. Something new everyday.
On a side note, I cleaned out all there was the other week. :)

Re: 98/22's

I don't think so. It may be a combination of factors such as wrong target audience, lack of knowledge, asking price etc.

I haven't seen many Mauser rifles that are poorly built. I have seen some that have seen seriously hard use over the years. Do you have an ad up?

Re: Found a 98/22.

So I brought it home. Turkish rear sight. One thing I didn't notice is the rear sight was marked in Arabic. Lol. In my excitement, I missed that part. No matter. It is still the first I've seen in a long time. Now mine. It has curved Zbrojovka crest, and V Czech army acceptance mark. Guessing later ...

I've got a mix of Federal blue box, CCI, Federal white 325 pack, and Aguila. I'm sure to get more. I'm an opportunist with .22lr. Lol.
