Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

I have two 80/87/15's and have put quite a few rounds through with no issue Might be a good idea to slug the barrel first, as one of mine is.264 and the other is .267. :/ Has anyone ever tried to correlate the bore variation with the arsenal the rifle was produced at? just wonderi...

Re: 2 Carcano's @ Store in Michigan

Unfortunately for those of us who appreciate them, they are becoming more sought after, as almost all the other nice mil-surps have become much more expensive the last few years. Did anyone ever think garden variety round reciever 91/30's would be going for $300+, and an unspeakable caliber M38 woul...

Re: Collecting Clips by Date

Just picked up some steel clips of , surprise, surprise, SMI 39 (7.35) and a bunch of loose 6.5 rounds that could use some cleaning before accurate ID

Re: Carcano Test Shoot

Garand enblocs were normally thrown away during combat as well, the last thing you want troops in combat doing is scrabbling after a spent clip. :/

Re: What's the deal with 6.5 Vetterli Rifles?

I've fired PRVI out of both of mine with no ill effect, except for the usual key holing with one (.267 bore), but a friend reloads for me, don't know the specifics but he said the load is about 10% lower than factory PRVI.

after having been frozen, make sure the timing/indexing is dead on, when your arm is past the front of the cylinder, an shaved ball is most unpleasant. :/

It worked beautifully on mine, and I love that there is NO! alteration of the weapon.

Re: Carcano Folding Bayonet

I'm looking for an unmodified 80/'87 bayonet, round here they seem far rarer than the folders, which are "hen's teeth" themselves

Re: Unspeakable Caliber

I've an 80/87 that managed to keep the full length barrel, although the stock was, well, . . . sporterized? As I happen to have an 80/87/15 that has a damaged magazine but a great stock; if I'm ever home long enough I plan on a careful resurrection of the 80/87 to it's pre battle of Adwa glory :)

Re: Unspeakable Caliber

I still have not crossed into the shadows, but I will if a reasonable example tempts me.
SWIHARTMARK, if 7.35 is unspeakable, what about 10.4 ? :)
