Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Re: Why P51 was Faster than the BF 109

Good analysis of it all (design, engine, amrament & use) here, but compared to the superior Focke-Wulf. It correlates with what I remember my Dad telling me (335 Squadron - 4th Fighter Group - Debden, England; an ‘Eagle Squadron’ volunteer, volunteered for the Brits before the US entered the war & f...

Re: Swiss Vetterli M78

Shot a friend’s ... and LOVED it! Have no need for anutha caliber, or rifle for that matter, but shooting that vintage gun was a hoot!

We look forward to your report!

The explanation could be as simple as someone with a WW2 Garand that needed a barrel replacement had a gunsmith install one in 7.62 caliber.
... that’s what I was thinking too ...

Re: Army wants a new more powerful machine gun

Ahhhhhh, if only the M1 Garand had been released in the catridge it was originally designed around ... the .276 Pedersen. Kind of an ‘early’ 7mm-08/6.5 Creedmore-like long-for-cailber-bullet cartridge.

Trivia - Some may not realize that it put 10-rounds into the infamous Garand ‘en bloc’ clip!

Nice Parker Hale PH5A aperture sight, SMLEs

EDIT: Link deleted, to comply w/ site mgt request. Complete with screws and the spring to mount it. If for sale here in the US directly, I’ve seen them go for 2X the price. Yes, it ships from New Zealand, but I bought one from the same Seller and got it no problems. BONUS - This one has the Merit-ty...

Re: First Carbine!

FWIW the Hornady Critical Defense ammo in M1 Carbine loading tested hotter than 357 loads, but forget where I read it recently; maybe Gun Tests magazine or the AR/M4 forums.
