Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Re: Anyone tried Aguila ammo?

It is PHENOMENAL accurate ammo in their high velocity 22LR loading, right there behind Ely & Tenex match loads, per surprising Guns&Ammo tests.

Re: Spanish M1916 Comparison

I must be old, I remember a Dealer from my Club selling them for $75, mostly matching if I recall correctly, if not all. Not beaters either. A bunch of us bought them, all passed headspace gauge checks and we had a blast shooting them in our cast boolit shoots.

Awesome photos, brought tears - of joy & sadness - to my eyes. I thank them for their sacrifices and service. Indeed ... the greatest generation!

Re: How many hours of work to make a Mauser Receiver

I suspect its related to manufacturing capability. I would reason it is far more for production tooling costs & setup than capability ... Think about it, as an example, when the Thompson/Center factory building muzzleloaders (straight profile barrels) in NH burned down, the biggest obstscle to any ...

Re: Photographing a bore

How about these? FWIW, they were taken using one of ~$15 LED endoscopes - they work slick! My twin brother took these pictures of the bore of his 45-70 Trapdoor using one of those LED 5.5mm endoscopes that are sold on the likes of eBay and Amazon. They come with a 5' or longer cable that plugs into...

I wonder if someone shot it in matches and put a ‘dimple’ in the stock grip ‘cap’ area everytime they did?

Re: A bore'ing story about a '98 Krag at 500 yards

Sounds great! Can’t wait to hear your results and I hear you on their bores being “all over the place”. Haven’t taken mine out past 200-yds yet, but am having tons of fun with it using cast boolits & CE Harris loads through it. We have an informal milsurp shoot weekly using cast loads only and its a...

Re: M4 sherman In WWII

Watched another episode last night about a couple US M26 Pershing heavy tanks that did make it to Europe in early ‘45 as the US Army was heading deeper into Germany. It had a 90mm cannon and one tank knocked out 3 Tiger 1s. Other M26s in that same tank company all had severe mechanical problems, as ...

Re: The picture find of a lifetime

What a great find! ‘Divine intervention’ I’d call it. Regardless of which side they were on ... we all revere and remember our WW2 Fathers; what they volunteered for or were asked to do is beyond the comprehension of the youths today. Take Normandy, 18-year old kids (on both sides) facing rifle & m...

Re: M4 sherman In WWII

FWIW I just viewed a VERY interesting video by Nicholas “The Chieftain” Moran who debunks and counters MOST of the arguments made against the Sherman tank. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=bNjp_4jY8pY He uses all US Board of Ordinance quotes and official documents as well as official records from Brita...

Re: HiPoint customer service

Their customer service is often said to be outstanding. They have a lifetime- no questions asked - guarantee regardless if you are the original purchaser or not. I have their 9mm version of that rifle and whilst a little ungainly in the hand (although I made it balance better by removing all the ‘t...

Re: 9mm hunting rifle barrel

My guess, pre-WW1 9.3mm barrel. See German proof marks, see: https://www.germanguns.com/tech-corner.html , as I recognize the B and the U proof marks. Marks showing crowns over the letters B = Beschuss = proof load fired and U = Untersuchung = inspected/viewed for defects, (proof approved). The '108...
