Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Re: Using a 308 Win Crimp die on 30-06

So I tried it today both on my Lee turret and my Dillon XL650. I'm going to guess that the crimp activates when the bottom of the die touches the shell plate, pushing the internals up and closing on the crimp. Because the die did not work at all. The entire neck of the 30-06 round came through the h...

Using a 308 Win Crimp die on 30-06

Good afternoon guys and girls. I was running some 30-06 on my XL650 and a thought occurred to me. I am making 30-06 ammo for my M1 Garand but am currently not using a crimp after seating my bullet. I am using mil-surp 30-06 brass, Hornady 150g FMJ-BT with cannelure, and seating with an RCBS seating ...

Swaging versus Reaming

Good evening ladies and gents. I am going to give my opinion on swaging versus reaming here. Understand this is for informational purposes only, your mileage may vary and this is not an endorsement of any particular product or brand. Just my experience with two different tools. I have a CH4D primer ...

Re: Universal Background Checks and Crime

You did a great job on your research. The problem is, research and logic have nothing to do with any of this. The gun-grabbers don't care if it helps or doesn't help. it is just another piece of gun legislation and all gun legislation is good. They play the ground game advancing the ball a few yard...

Poke Holes in my Logic - I want to submit this to my Rep for possible legislative fix.

I wrote the following proposal last week after the Florida shooting. This was the best solution I can come up with in regards to preserving our 2nd amendment and 4th amendment rights while also fighting nut-jobs like the guy who got the gun in Florida from acquiring the types of firearms that make h...

Universal Background Checks and Crime

So I’ve been hearing a lot of chatter about “universal background checks” in regards to private transfers of firearms. Well I have been giving it a lot of thought. Here’s my opinion as to why this is not the answer to our current gun control debate. As of right now criminals have three options if th...

Using Lanolin+99% alcohol and wet tumbling

Let me share some more knowledge I've recently learned. I wet tumble and nobody told me (or perhaps I didn't look for) how lanolin would affect my wet tumbling. Now to share what I learned. The standard recipe of a small amount of lemishine and dawn are not enough to remove all the lanolin. You'll s...

Re: M1 garand reloading

If not using an adjustable gas plug, be careful how you load. Here's the reference I use for M1 Garand and M14: http://www.bearblain.com/Service%20Rifle%20Loadings.html I'm getting set to start loading for my CMP "special". I have all the equipment as I have been loading for a few years. I have the...

Random Resources

Good evening gents. I'm going to post up a few of the random resources I have accumlated through my internet trolling and Google-Fu. Some of it came from this forum prior to the "reset" of this summer. Some of it comes from elsewhere. Hopefully you can find something that is useful to you. Most of t...

Re: For Sale Section - Am I blind?

I see.

I had taken a sabbatical due to work over the past few months. I'll find some topics and give some insight.

Thanks for the info!

For Sale Section - Am I blind?

Am I blind or am I missing the for sale section of the forums? Got a Christmas bonus and am looking for an optic. Going to see if a board member has one for sale prior to ordering from a big box store. So, does the for sale section not exist or am I just blind? Thank you for putting up with my non-o...
