Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Improvise - Adapt - Overcome

Improvise – adapt – overcome My dad was a Marine who fought on Guam and Iwo Jima during WW II, and while he didn’t talk about the horrors of the Pacific campaign he occasionally related some of the more humorous events of his deployment. This is one that I believe must have happened on Guam. As the ...

Great video, Tommy. That's pretty much what it looks like in action.

Re: Something I can recommend

That looks like the one I have. The rifling is pretty close due to the 45 degree mirror, but it might be possible to remove the mirror and look down the bore - mirror just screws on. I've taken some pics but since photobucket decided not to play nice, I don't know how to post them. Also, they look b...

Something I can recommend

Got Teslong borescope for Christmas. Cool tool that plugs into the USB port on my computer. They are about $50 on Amazon. I tried it on my Winchester 69A bolt action .22 which has a 25" barrel. With the bolt removed, I was able to scope the thing going in from the breach all the way to the muzzle wi...

Re: You WW I buffs might enjoy this.

I also watched "They Shall Not Grow Old." Peter Jackson did an amazing job restoring, colorizing, and adjusting the frame rate on original footage. Most of it looked like it could have been made yesterday. On a side note, 100 years ago, my grandfather was in the U.S. Army , fighting in France. He re...

You WW I buffs might enjoy this.

I'm always intrigued by old photos overlayed on the same scene in current times but this is the first time I've seen it done with 100 year old movie footage. Battle of Somme footage. At about the 22 minute mark you expect to see British soldiers step from 1916 to 2016. https://www.youtube.com/watch?...

Not that I would do either, but why is it if I wear blackface I'm a racist but if I put on a dress and makeup I'm empowered?

Re: Midway Movie Review

The one thing that bothered me was when the carrier was not steaming fast enough into the wind to effectively launch the planes. I'm sure that's a possibility and may have actually happened at some point, but with all the people involved in a launch it seems unlikely that nobody would say, "Hey! We ...

Re: Midway Movie Review

I pretty much agree. It exceeded my expectations, too. From what I know about the battle it appeared to be about as historically accurate as it could have been. I was impressed that the casting agents managed to find actors who looked so much like the people they were portraying ... especially Woody...

Re: The Old Forum.

Yeah. Those were the days. Best deal I got was a K-31 from AIM at $59.95 delivered. Probably the most accurate rifle I've ever owned, but it felt awkward with a scope and my old eyes couldn't sort out the iron sights. Sold it for 3 times what I paid for it. Back then you could get SKS's for under $1...

Re: The Old Forum.

I remembered the forum before the last one. The one we are on now is, I believe, the third iteration. The first one was a part of SurplusRifle.com or *.org. That was a great site with lots of sponsors and tons of info on old mil-surps ... manuals galore, history, and even some editorials. Lots of sp...

Re: Clearance sale on ammo boxes

Just a quick follow-up. Mine were marked .40 S&W, not .45 ACP, but they DO work just fine for .45.

Pretty decent ammo boxes BTW.
