Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Re: My New Toy

Range report is on the cards.
We have put together some safe ammo to test.
Just need to get to the range.
Maybe in the next two weeks.

Cheers

I just got one also, except mine has a fixed sight. Same manufacturer. I think from reading, it is an M38 cavalry carbine.
The fixed sights indicate m38 but I believe that brecia manufactured m38 carbines with the adjustable rear sight just to
confuse things a little.

Re: My New Toy

One of the cool features of this design is the magazine cut off. Some firearms such as the early lee enfields had a hinged plate which would be pushed over the magazine to you can single load your rounds into the chamber and the bolt will not pick a round up from the mag On the Swiss 1889 they do th...

Re: My New Toy

This particular rifle has aged well.
It was looked after by its owners.

This rifle went into private hands in 1924 and no doubt passed through a few
hands before I was lucky to purchase it.

It remained all this time in Switzerland until recently.

My other two are g1911 and k31
The tiger stripes drew me to it to buy it.

A full-length Steyr M95 in the original chambering. Nice find! If you get a chance to take it out for a spin, let us know how it shoots.

My New Toy

Its of course an 1889 Schmidt Reuben Manufactured in 1892 one of 91k made that year. Its all matching and bore is in great condition. Complete with muzzle cap and sling. This particular rifle was "retired" from active service in 1924. 20180105_204005.jpg 20180105_204026.jpg 20180105_204039.jpg

Re: MAS 36

The bayonet is indeed modified.
Someone went to a lot of effort to do that.

I love shooting my Mas, its accurate and compact.
Enjoy it

Here is the volley sights on the left side of the P14.

The front sight is the brass disc which you can adjust for distance
and on the left of your ladder sight is your peep sight.
