The bayonets when issued with the rifle should have matching numbers.

Soldiers do lose them and get issued with another.

Here are some markings of an Israeli (Ex German) K98 Bayonet

The later Israeli made copies came with the muzzle ring

I really like these rifles, have this feel of east meets west. My long rifle is quite accurate and a nice handling rifle for a long rifle. Saw the carbine at a recent gun show, got excited until I was told the price. Sheepishly walked away from that one unfortunately. By the way, very nice examples ...

I think they are 1889s, look at the rear sights, they have the ears, front blade sight and the stacking hook
