Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Re: 2018 - Mosin Nagant Prices

... but I want to see if any of you guys are thinking about cashing in on the 450% price increase. No won't be selling mine as temping as it might be. Forums are full of posts with people saying "I wish I had never sold that." Perhaps if I were sitting on 20+ that might be a different story but I h...

Awesome deal and nice CZ.
Gotta love those friends, coworkers, and family members who just don't want those "old guns" around anymore and offer a screaming deal. :D

Re: Brazilian 1908 non matching Long rifle.

... what do you look at to gauge the interest???.. There is no body language to read, just numbers on a screen.. If you're using the Proxibid app that shows the live auction items and bids then you're seeing the auction progress in real-time. Be aware that some auctions even offer live audio and so...

Re: Brazilian 1908 non matching Long rifle.

@ indy1919a4 - I'm under the impression that each auction house sets its own percentages? I also imagine that additional % fees may vary with the type of services that the online providers (e.g. Proxibid) offer to the auction house for that event. Honestly, I often don't even pay attention to what s...

Re: Brazilian 1908 non matching Long rifle.

Anyway, the auction fee was 20% of the winning bid price. This particular rifle i won with the high bid of $240..total with 20%fee was $312. there was no shipping since the auction was local and since I’m a dealer I was tax exempt. Certainly that makes a difference. Local + tax exempt is a big plus...

Re: Brazilian 1908 non matching Long rifle.

Personally I think you did fine. The metal and wood look to be pretty decent - too bad about the pitting, but from what you show, certainly doesn't seem like anything to be concerned about. All mil-surps have climbed to crazy prices the past few years so if you got a Brazilian 1908 for $300+ then th...

"Tumbleweeds" are a brand name. They are shavings from a wood and coiled together.
Ha, did not know that - but Yes, the real things do burn like crazy!

I thought they were telling people to find and use a real one.

Re: RTFI!

I used to see a lot of them around here growing up - they sprouted up almost anywhere (like any other weed) - no so much anymore, perhaps due to urban sprawl? It was fun to light a few on fire and watch them burn - they go up in flame very quickly.
