Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Re: Finned m91 home made hand guard

How did you do the rivets? Frankly... I cheated! I was very concerned that if I tried to hammer down some rivets, I'd bust the handguard all to bits. I have some tinners rivets that I put in the vice and hammered the heads for visual effect. I glued those in just to keep them temporarily in place, ...

Re: Old forum is back!!!!

Hello! I am new here! Howdy and welcome! :D Just a word of advice, if I may? You can do as you please (w/in limits of site rules) of course but, it is better to make your introduction on a new thread of your own making. The only people who will see you here are those like me who chose to vi...

Re: Hello everyone :)

Howdy Jaxxyfur. I am a recent returnee myself and under the same name though I still had to register as new. I think they had a problem where a lot of stuff got lost. When I checked, only 2 of a considerable number of posts including some stickies remained. I too am fascinated by the history carried...

Re: Old forum is back!!!!

Hi "Yoop", "Old forum is back!!!!" Weellll... not quite. I used to be pretty active on this forum, to the tune of some odd hundred of posts and a few of them fixed as 'stickies.' I faded off some years ago due to work and health issues only stopping by rarely. Things having slowed down considerably ...

Re: question about a notification?? (Screen pics added)

Thanks to me? It's far more accurate to say "Thanks" to you ! I do see one area in the classifieds that I could run afoul of. I make and sell some site related items, (I am NOT throwing a pitch here which is why I am being intentionally vague) That I put listings out on a auction site. Now, I hardly...

Re: question about a notification?? (screen pics added)

Hmmmm, I wonder if it was notifying you that you now have access to the "For Sale/Want To Buy" part of the forum. You need a certain number of posts before you are granted access. I think it's 25 posts. I never received a notification that I had access (that I remember), they just appeared. That's ...

Re: 1873 Springfield Trapdoor

This has really nothing to do with the immediate topic but, recalls to mind one day, lo- many moons ago now- going to a black powder and mountain man supply store. Just by the door was an old fashioned (not so much so back then) wood barrel with several trap block rifles shoved in it. (Rifles specif...

question about a notification?? (Screen pics added)

I got a flashing notification atop my page. When I opened it, I could not make any sense of it. I have no idea what it's referring to or about. Anybody help me out here??? It's heading was this: Group update: You have been added to the group For Sale. Then there was a column of names starting with t...

back again and a few pics by way of introduction

Hello, used to frequent this forum some years back then kind of drifted away. Pretty much all my old posts are gone. I specialize in Yugoslav longarms, especially Mauser rifles. I also dabble in Mosin-Nagants and the occasional other odd arm. Having retired and with things slow on forums these days,...

M1 Garand and me, both from 1955

This isn't a new acquisition but, since my previous posts here are all gone I feel free to offer them up again so here goes. The top image shows how it came. The next photo shows what I found after cleaning. Needless to say, I was quite thrilled. I looked up the numbers to find it was made in 1955, ...

Re: Barrel lug number M59/66A1

Again, I say, I am no expert... and I can prove it! I ran this question by a gentleman who knows far more about the sks rifle family than I will ever begin to know and that means by whoever made them. One "Yooper John." If you haven't you ought to check out his web site. But, here is his reply to th...
