Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Re: GEW 98 long rifle at 500 and 800 yards*

Have you run that load over the chrono ? That is a really hot load . R-15 is close to I-4064 . With 4064 48 grains is hot and 50 is max with a 150 bullet . R-15 's own data lists 48.0 - 50.0 for the 150 and only 44.0 as max for a 200 . It is hard or impossible to duplicate 8mm military velocity wit...

Since your brass is uniform in length: Your 30-06 RCBS seating die can be adjusted to seat AND crimp. As you discovered lee factory crimp does crimp when she'll holder contacts the die bottom (sliding collet).

Re: A M1911 rifle, reloads and my wife....

Hi - I have never done anything like this but it sounds interesting. Off hand I would never even think of being able to do this. Especially if it was one second max per shot. Heck, I'd feel lucky for a 24 inch group. Really, can someone tell me the ground rules for something like this? I could try ...

Let us know the match details....it is going to take a lot of dedicated practice to beat that 'ringer' you have filling your place on the firing line. ;-)

Rob: Was that high velocity "HP" you were shooting? I thought they were solid 40gr.

Sure did shoot good!

Re: 7.35 AMMO

Looks like you are all set for that cartridge. I just shot the last of my 7.35 GI ammo. All shot fine. I do well now with Privi brass and the Hornady bullet over NORMA 202 or IMR 4064. Next time our NM MilSurp club has a 300 yard shoot the Carcano goes to the line. I find at 500 yards the sights and...

Great ammo for new shooter training or painless plinking in the M38 & M44 carbines.

I was at that shoot. It was a fun day, and I went and bought a P17 Enfield this week!

Re: 7mm Mauser ammo info request

That older FN 7mm is Some of SAMCOs ammo imports. The 1969-1970 FN 7x57mm 140gr FMJBT was outstanding. Noncorrosive, sure fire and accurate. I won our NM Milsurps 800yard match last month with the 69 FN ammo (1908 Mauser).

Let us know how the RN ammo shoots for you.

Re: Reduced Garand Load

2400fps with accurate 5744 in a 30-06? Sounds like pressure would be excessive with that fast burning powder. And that load is only 300fps slower than M2 ball...not much of a "reduced load".

Re: Reloading Problem with Latvian 7.62 NATO Cases

Are you re-adjusting your die for those thick/tough cases or using the die set to size your other brass? Make sure your shell holder contacts the die bottom when you size the GGG brass. With the extra effort involved...it may simply be you are partially sizing that tough brass and extruding the shou...

Re: Interesting Gun Failures

The only .267" diameter bullet is the Hornady 160 gr softpoint. None of the major mfgs use this bullet in factory ammunition.

NORMA and Prvi FACTORY ammo will have .264" bullets. Small "custom loaders" often use Prvi brass and any available bullet.

How good was Ian with that P17 Enfield? He beat the two shooters shooting SCOPED Milsurp Sniper rifles with his 13 hits. Thís Saturday: Bolt rifles against pigs on the 300 Meter rail. One minute from Your first shot to down As many pigs as you can. Shoot fast? Shoot accurate? Gotta do both to win th...
