Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Re: Question: 7 mm Mausers, worn bores, and powder coating jacketed bullets

I routinely bump .323 bullets up to .329 and have had no problems with accuracy. Your concerns about a bullet failing upon impact is valid. The jacket may have been thinned enough to cause problems at high speed. A round nosed bullet may be a better path to take. Round nose bullets would be my firs...

I can’t see how a bump up size operation of .003” would make a jacketed bullet any less trustworthy in the integrity department.

Sounds good.
The new Taurus TX22 has also had some good reviews.

Re: Is this now your favorite 6 pack?

IMO, it's a cheap marketing gimmick that puts more money in FIOCCHI pocket for selling less ammo, 2 boxes of 50 rounds (100 rounds) is about 25 bucks. I can of 90 rounds is 27 bucks so who really comes out in this? it certinly isn't the comsumer I saw them for $24.50 if you buy 5 cans. Not too bad....

Is this now your favorite 6 pack?

Fiocchi is now selling ammo in beer cans. I guess a good sealed package for those who have storage concerns.

Nothing I will jump on but I like the novel idea. Anyone for a 6 pack of 9mm?

Re: French MAS 1949 semi Auto rifle

I sold my French issue M49 on Gunbroker a while back. Winner was a French collector. He said they were not common there. Simpson’s LTD exported it to him.

Re: NM MILSURPS 300 meter "Mad Minute" match

100% of five shots would not win over 80% of 20 shots.......and so on. Math involved?..that is honestly beyond me... 15 hits in a minute beats 5 hits. Are Total rounds fired and number of misses even a factor in a speed contest? I sure will give it a try. Sounds like a fun military surplus shooting...

Re: NM MILSURPS 300 meter "Mad Minute" match

“Scores will be: Total number of Shots fired and Rounds on Target. The higher number of accurate shots on target will win.”

% of hits wins, not total hits in 1 minute? If % ...then I am quitting after one carefully aimed shot.

I wouldn’t worry about the serial number...that is a 1968 requirement. on January 3, 2015. In 1968, the Gun Control Act (GCA) imposed numerous additional requirements in the arena of gun manufacture. As per the GCA, all firearms newly manufactured or imported into the United States are required to b...

Re: 100 Dollar Norweagian Krag Carbine "sporter"

My first centerfire rifle was a 30-40 Krag sporter. Got it on my 12th birthday back in 1958.

I suspect some Scandinavian lad had a similar experience with Rob’s carbine decades ago.

The problem is a tight bore , not groove . A 96 Swede with a very tight bore , some are as small as .253 , with tear the jacket on a thin jacketed .264 bullet . Going to a .263 dia bullet or a thicker jacket should cure the problem .
“.253” bore in a 6.5mm barrel? Is that a typo?

Re: You won't believe this is for sale?

They had their own head stamp.. that says something... it would have been very easy to just toss a batch of PPU in a box and sell it as Mitchells. They did go the extra step.. And in the long road of Gun Collecting Mitchell's Mausers will take its place behind such names as Bannerman, Interarms, Ce...
