Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Re: SAD NEWS

echo1, i do feel your pain. After a career in law enforcement and the military, I do believe the majority of soldiers/LEOs will do what they are told to do, regarding gun control laws. They may feel conflicted, but will think of the families they have to provide for and what other career field they ...

Re: SAD NEWS

Friends, the Second Amendment, and in fact the entire Constitution, means only what 5 of the nine judges on the Supreme Court say it means. We do not have to speculate what WILL happen if any of the "loyal opposition" candidates appoint judges!

Re: M59 Mosin~Nagant

I learned something today---did not know M59s were intended to be sold as sporters! Always thought they were cut down to be used by police, militia, etc. OT---In a precious life, I lived in Longview (go Rangerettes)! Are u old enough to remember Tony's H&T Sporting Goods?? Bought many a cool gun the...

Yes! BUT--I think it looks cool, and probably much less $$ than a correct rifle--could be a fun shooter/hunter, albeit a bit heavy.

Re: Walther PP32

Always liked the neat lines and heft of the Walther PP/PPK series. Beautifully made, and they were a bargain when (then) West German police surplused them years ago,

Thanks for the info--like to have good leather for my pistols, and "used" gun show finds are the way to go. Will keep my eyes open--

What he said! It is too easy to start questioning your manhood/attraction to other women--do not make the mistake of going from the frying pan into the fire. Stop and take some time before entering into another relationship---

Re: 1903 Springfield Griffin and Howe 28" target rifle

Admired many G&H sporters thru the years, never saw one of their target rifles. Appears to have a great piece of walnut, and whole gun finished as nice as any custom sporter they made. The tight bbl is a plus--I'd be tempted to take it to a NM shoot, just for old times sake. You would definitely get...

Re: Had to replace a Krag rear sight

Great work-around! Was it a PITA to mod the 1903 leaf?? Thank u for sharing this with us---I enjoy modded milsurps/beaters that retain their military flair. Plus, a new idea if/when I acquire another Krag in need of a sight--

Re: 1903 Springfield Griffin and Howe 28" target rifle

Headless cocking piece and all! I really like the classic big bore target rifles. When I was a kid, friend of my dad was an "across the course" shooter. One of his rifles was a 03 Springfield, cherry wood target stock and a Browning 1919 MG bbl. I can only assume he used that bbl because they were d...

Re: WW II memorial box saved

Kudos to you for keeping this important piece of history together.
As an aside, the Major retired the same year I enlisted in the Army as a 17 yoa baby soldier.
There were still some of the WWII types around--that generation gave us a great nation.

Re: Turk

Those 93 Turks are a fav of mine--only downturn is I'm afraid to use Turk ammo--has a rep for being "hot". Since I don't reload, limits me to searching gun shows for bargain-priced old boxes of US commercial 8mm. Since I did not have a 93 when the Romanian ammo was plentiful/cheap, I did not buy any--
