Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

1st thing try different ammo, some rifles are picky. Try some FLAT BASE 180 Gr Rem or something.
Is the muzzle centered in the aperture in the nosecap?
How's the rifling look?
How about the muzzle crown?

Re: Handloading manual for a beginner

Something you may not have thought about. The Lee Classic Loader comes with a single volume-based dipper to measure powders. All of the data with it is biased for that particular scoop. It effectively converts weight to volume then you load the volume that equals the weight. You will rapidly discove...

Re: Quality of oil?

There's more than just "oil" in "oil", the types, volumes & quality of the additives may well vary. Unfortunately there's so much hype about "magic" additives" its hard to sort the wheat from the chaff.

Re: Jungle Carbine Stock Restoration

If you make one from a No4 you'll have to do the handguard as well as the band is positioned differently. Its about 2" closer to the draws on a No5 than on a No4.

Re: Cold enuff for you?

We had the opposite problem. I was thinking of the jumpers who'd drop to lower altitude & warmer temps quite fast, not the drop crew who stayed up there! We had sealed environments in PR-7s & to a lesser extent PR-9's, so no wind, but the "bubble blown" canopy was a greenhouse with a magnify...

When we were conducting HALO drops out of Pinal Air Park, it was around -40 F at 18,000-20,000 feet when we dropped the ramp and made our drops.
Yeah, but you weren't "up there" very long, but I can see windchill being a bit much for those 10~12 seconds.

Re: enfield 5round mag

I have a spare P-H (IIRC) just laying around, but its for .303. I never use t. Unfortunately I don't know if its for a No4 or a No1. Because of that I have no idea how well it'll work in an Indian Enfield.

Re: Random Resources

Easy enough to do. copy the pages a .TIF or .JPG drop a white box with a white outline over the errors & drop correct type into it. Any basic photo editing program including "PAINT" which is free with windows shroud do it. Like this I changed the 1/2" butt stock error to 1". alans document.jpg :whis...

I don't have a problem with steel per se, but I do have a problem with the fact its frequently shoddily made & out of spec.
