Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Re: Va has fallen.

Thanks. By nature I'm not a "Joiner" but I'm seeing that it's time to just hunker down, dig in & fight. Not my first choice but that's where it going currently. I really wish it wasn't though.

Re: Va has fallen.

Just back from the Chantilly show. Its like the bad old BHO days, lines round the sides of the building all the time & hand carts of ammo flying out the door in volume. Several politicos had tables & were pressing the flesh. I joined VCDL & so got free admission & a line jump. They're no longer allo...

Re: cleaning firearms

Alcohol is a good degeaser & cosmolene solvent.
HOWEVER
It does absorb (literally) Water.
For that reason I always recommend thoroughly wiping down & re oiling immediately after every use.

Re: #4Mk2 Accuracy Adjustments ?

If the action screw is tight, the noxx form is bedded over the first 1 1/2" for the bottom 1/3 of the radius & the barrel is free floated except for the "pad" at the muzzle (producing the 5~7 Lbs of centered upthrust), end then its good. A 10 round 2" circular group @100 yds is actually very very go...

Re: #4Mk2 Accuracy Adjustments ?

Setting it up properly in the first place.
How well is it bedded? Where is the barrel bedded?
is it all matching?
Does the end f the barrel sit in the bottom center of the stock with 4~7 Lbs of pressure?
How accurate do you call "pretty accurate"?
Are you hand loading for it?

Re: cleaning firearms

I've used alcohol as a cleaner degreaser but not rubbing alcohol which contains water & sometimes its own oils!
Brake cleaner works well. as does yellow "Heet" which is pure alcohol.

Re: What's In My Barrel?

The only problem with sweets, which is great product, is the high ammonia content. You can't safely use it for long term soaking because of that & nickelling needs the long soak because you have to break the chemical bond which is what makes it so tough to remove. I have sweets & use it at the range...

Re: What's In My Barrel?

They are essentially the same product, M-Pro Makes a "reformulated" version of their copper remover which Hoppes markets as its own under a different name. I've used both & the original seems a hair better IMO. Is it a massive difference, No. If you have the Hoppes use it. Do remember though the bor...

Re: What's In My Barrel?

It looks like jacket metal fouling. Get a bottle of the M-Pro-7 COPPER REMOVER. http://m-pro7.com/products/copper-remover/ App liberally with patches, you're trying to coat the bore with liquid that fairly thick, not scrub it. DO NOT REMOVE IT, by all means run a correct bronze brush through a coupl...
