Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

NYC backs off treansport rules.

Well, well, lookee here. “The change, posted on a city website without fanfare, allows gun owners to take their firearms to a home, business or shooting range outside city limits. Until now, the city had limited those with possession licenses to seven shooting ranges inside city limits.   Gun ...

Re: Odd occurrance (E-Bay)

I heard more from the seller, the amount mentioned was in addition to cc charges, e-pay charges & processing fees for selling.

Re: Odd occurrance (E-Bay)

Right there with you.
I call it E-Pay, but sometimes the choice is E-Pay or Amazon so I get to deal with it.
Maybe its normal?
Maybe its the seller's first sale so he finds it odd? (I sem to remember he had a bunch of ratings though so I doubt that.
Who knows? It was just odd that he mentioned it.

Odd occurrance (E-Bay)

I know some of you guys are e-bay traders so I have a question for you regarding cc charges. (NOT firearm related) I ought a couple of items from a single seller on e-bay. My cc was charged the full amount of the transaction, I've confirmed this with the cc company. HOWEVER The seller was "shorted b...

Re: F-104 Trivia

When things go screwy in a fast mover the go screwy fast too. We were departing Brawdy in the Western tip of Wales in an RAF PR-7 Canberra (B47) when we got a buzz by a couple of USAF F4s. They were insistent we make an IMMEDIATE 120° Port turn & reduce altitude & power. We were discussing it , as w...

Re: Warning - Dominican .30 Carbine Ammo

This stuff was probably made for the horrible ".30 Kiraly-Cristóbal Carbine". They probably never fired it because every Chrisotbal I ever saw when I was there was a block of corrosion & rust. I had one of the "mirror shades & soviet camo dungarees" crowd point one at me once & a spider climbed out ...

Re: F-104 Trivia

Basically a missile with wings. I remember hearing about "The flying Coffin Nail" or as the Germans called them "Witwenmacher" ("The Widowmaker") at the time. Oddly it was ONLY the Germans that had such a terrible accident rate. I did hear that a major contributing factor was the German's insistence...

Re: JFK

Yes that was a very well done recreation of the events in Dealy Plaza. There was another one done by (IIRC) the Discovery channel where they built a tower reproducing the shooting angle & range. They towed a similar car at the same speed & an "expert" replicated the actual shooting. Then they had ab...

Re: JFK

Once you strip away the nuttier conspiracy theories, & the outright hype it comes down to a fairly basic shot string any reasonably competent rifleman could have made. 90 yds @ 60°downward angle benched & supported against a slow-moving 9' X 6 1/2' receding target. The rounds fired we should compare...

Re: JFK

There's a lot of misinformation out there, but a lot of it has been repeated so many times its becoming "fact". I have one or two questions myself, but I think most of any "Cover up" or "Conspiracy" was probably the result of good ol' 'Murican CYA syndrome as the tale began to be fully reveled. All ...

Re: Time to ride the Homelite Trail King 2019

I'm not sure if this will help, but there's a motorcycle type chain lube in the U.K. called "Linklife" Its a grease at room temperature, but in hot water it liquefies. To use it you sit the giant "shoe polish can" it comes in in a tub of hot water till it melts. Then you coil up the chain (hence the...

Lets not forget, or ignore, that any ship of that age probably has "H&S" Issues with things like (gasp here) asbestos, which killed all its former crew!
