Re: auction price

My Dad was a huge gun guy, but he was also pretty knowledgable on antiques as well having owned his own shop. He woukd attend auctions for fun and profit. At one there were some guns and parts. He had given them a look. He knew what was uo for bid. Well up came a rifle stock, just the stock . He sai...

[/quote] ok! the author writes of a particular value added feature encountered not just on his own model 63 but others as well where it would fire full auto if you rested your finger tip through the trigger guard and around to the side of the receiver. Probably horse fiction but when I read it I rem...

Re: Sporterized 1903 Found Locally. Help Me Decide...

I prefer. Thrm originsl military. But i have enough knowledge to be dangerous. Yes tge diopter sight adds value. But not for a military rifle. The serial number puts it in the "safe" range. Over 800,000 for Sringfield. If you like sporting rifles you can get a new with scope Savage for around 400. T...

If you want to do a restoration, this one is too far gone. Unless its free.
Needs a new barrel. Stock, and bands.
Worse tge reciever has been drilled and tapped for tgat rear sight.
I would keep looking.
Many original rifles out there.
Good luck.

Yay! Room for more cold food and drinks. One of those tedious tasks we all hate to do. We have a freezer at work for ice packs, and are required to defrost it 2x a month. That is a bit much, but those are the rules. I hate it only because the darn thing sits on carpet. :) And the drip tray is shall...

" It is common knowledge that the U.S. and other NATO countries jointly developed a cartridge known as the 7.62MM NATO round. This allowed the standardization of ammunition but left weapon ...
